A person’s attitude and behaviours are strongly influenced by societal expectations. Due to social and economic changes, people have come to question what is expected of them. As a result, they are increasingly willing to access supportive therapeutic services. MAPS provides the necessary support while being sensitive to cultural, economic, gender, and sexual orientation issues, as well as to personal and situational difficulties.
We provide community awareness on issues relating to domestic violence, through workshops, presentations, schools and employee relations initiatives.
MAPS Transitional Housing (Phoenix House) provides an independent sober-living environment for men and women in early recovery who wish to break the bonds from alcohol or substance use.
Our houses are made for you to experience a comfortable, home-like environment which helps you cultivate a supportive network.
MAPS provides men and women with the opportunity to address issues and receive support from other men and women facing similar struggles.
Group counselling is the primary service offered.
We offer short-term individual counselling to those who attend the group.
You and the counsellor will have weekly counselling sessions approximately one hour in length. In this time, you and the counsellor will work through steps towards the goal that you have established for yourself.
